Can't breathe.....what should I do

I have been bouncing in between low yellow nd red zone for 52 hours now and I can barely even walk anymore. I've been taking my rescue medication like crazy and resting but nothing seems to really be helping. I just got out of child care which I've been in for my whole lif and they usually took care of this sort of thing for me. I'm not sure what to do. Any suggestions?

Thanks so much for all of your support. I just got released from the hospital last night after deciding to go. I really thought I could just tough it out, but I guess not. I had a really helpful doctor who gave me lots of  advice and helped me to make a care pln so I can know what to do at what stages.

I'm feeling quite a bit bettr now, though still not 100%. I'm really greatful for the forum here ad
I hope you are all doing well!

I agree-you need to go to the hospital-it sounds like you may need some additional meds to help regain control of your asthma.

It is important to understand that YOU have asthma-and only YOU can determine how you feel-no one else can control your asthma better than you-the first step in controlling it is taking charge of it. The responsible thing is for you to take charge of it.

Uncontrolled asthma can kill you if not treated, so it is imperative that you seek the proper medical attention and work with your doctor to regulate yor meds so you can live a better quality of life.

This isn't easy-but it's the right thig to do. My best to you and hope you feel so much better.

You should go to the hospital, anytime you enter the red zone. This is dangerous. And in the yellow zone you should try to see your doctor as soon as you can, especially if you've been in that zone for more then 24 hours.

I would suggest you take some asthma classes or at the least work with your doctor to set up an asthma action plan. Your doctor can tell you what to do at each stage (colour) and what medicines you should take. It's very important that you learn to take care of yourself, as you are old enough now to do that. Let us know how you are doing.
