Hi. I had this cough for almost three weeks now, it started with just a simple cold and turned to an all out asthma attack. Which is not new for me. I have asthma and I only have attacks when I caught a flu or cold and I usually just drink salbutamol cough syrup and it would go away after a few days. But now I had it for 3 weeks. and the doctor told me to start using an inhaler twice a day. Then I was told to take ventollin expectorant I took it but nothings happening to my cough. Then she prescribed clarithromycin and I took it twice a day for a week. It got better,I had no difficulty in breathing anymore the I rarely cough the whole week. It's been 3 days since I stopped using it cause I finished the whole week of meds. And now my cough is going back. I'm still sick and it's my first month being sick. So I went back to my dr and have me xrayed and the results went back normal. I told her that I'm still coughing and it sounds deeper and has a whistling sound at the end. She told me to use a nebulizer every four hours only if a I'm having an acute attack. So I did. It helps coz my cough sounds just like a normal cough. Like a wet cough. The only problem is I don't know how to spit it out. My sleeping is super better. I never had problem sleeping anymore since I don't cough at night. So I started using my nebulizer only twice a day since I'm feeling better. Now yesterday I woke up and I don't feel good, I'm having a hard time coughing again and I feel sick and tired and having a hard time breathing so I went back to using 4 times a day. And I'm feeling okay but not yet better. Also she prescribed montelukast for me which I take before bed. But I feel like I'm just going in circles and I want to just feel better coz this cough has been going on for 7 weeks now. And I'm a hypochondriac so it's really hard for me.
