totally confused

Dear Doc. I'm a 48 yr old over the road truck driver. I transport cars back and forth(so I'm not sitting all the time) and I have been getting lightheaded and my arms have a slight tingly feel to them. I have gone to the hospital the last time this happened. Did all the test even did a stress test. Nothing. Went to a E.N.T. doc found out I had polyps in my upper sinsus..after a whole lot of steroids it kind of cleared. But now it's back just as bad as the last time I was in the hospital. They didn't do anything to me the last time but give me alot of more bills to pay. And I'm still feeling like this. Do you have any ideas that I can look into? Please help. thanks.

Hello and hope you are doing well.

You may be having a nerve compression at the cervical (neck) level. The nerve compression could be due to an osteophyte, growth or a disc. This could be causing the odd sensation in the arms and dizziness. A neurological examination by your primary care physician may confirm this. He may then ask for blood test, an x ray and if needed an MRI to find out what is causing the compression. This is usually treated conservatively (without surgery) with physiotherapy, traction and cervical collars. Please consult your primary care physician for further evaluation.

Hope this helped and do keep us posted.

This may be a heart-related issue and there may be a lot of other tests that may show something like a EKG.  II would try your family doctor (or walk in clinic) and use about the possibility and how the doctor is going to limit and choose what the problem is.  This way you understand the process and what tests could be used to determine the issue.  Good luck and until that take good care of yourself in every other aspect (food, exercise, emotionally).
