Autism Ask a Doctor - Does it work?

There is a new ask the doctor forum.  From the looks of it, I don't see any responses from any of the doctors over the last week to anyone, so I guess this new forum ain't really working?  I posted a question earlier, still no response.  Well, guess this site is free, so I can't complain too much about it.  I asked about the same question in this forum, and at least got an answer here, so maybe the doctors don't know everything?  :)

Thanks Tomel for answering my earlier question...

Please don't post your email out in public. Chances are most people here are helpful, but you never know.

Anyways, I think you mean to post here:
http://www.medhelp.org/forum_disclaimers/show/187
(hit accept and follow along the links. You may or may not have to pay $... some of the expert forums are free and some aren't)

Because people are not allowed to give out their email, your post will be removed, but I saved the rest of your message here:

"dear mis/sir

my son is 13 years old & hypothyroidism,
i found your site in a google search engine.
my son had autism when he was 4 years old after we did all kinds of analysis
on one of the known hospitals in saudi arabia, they told me its more
electricitie in the brain and this is called autism.
they describe this medicene Retalin that had been given to him for 2 weeks but
he was having a bad side effects and the doctor stop it & give him Resperdal
as aliquid 1 gm for one year and they change the amount to bills 2gm until
before two days the doctors specify a new kind of medicene which is Zyprexa
and we are wondering if there is a better medicene for autism with
congenctal hypothyroidism and he is using:
1- Zyprexa 10 mg in two doses 5mg in morning & 5 mg before he sleeps
2- 150 mg of Thyroxine every day"

Oh, I finally did get an answer from a doctor on the ask the doctor forum.  Took over a week.  I also don't think they are answering everyone's questions, only the questions they want to.  I haven't checked in awhile, though.  Here has better questions and answers.  I did get a good answer to my question, though, but I had also decided to call my daughter's pediatrician's office to get an even better answer.  Pediatrician's offices answer questions without having to go in for a visit and they don't charge you if your family goes there to visit.  It is, however, nice to have more than one answer, to see what various people say about something.

I was checking there yesterday and it does seem a little disappointing...  I hope the people asking the questions can come here.
