Why do you want to move away from your family?

The best thing to do is to find a couple of family members that you can talk to about your depression or sadness.  I usually feel better after talking to my mom and aunt, but feel worse after talking to my sister, so I just stay close to those two.

They love you, remember that and stay close to them.  Don't be distant from them they could probably help you.  Do you have a support group that you could go to?

Crystlas is right.  You need them now more than ever.  If they know and understand lean on them to help bring you out of the depression.  With my brother he made me watch  Police Academy movies until I thought I would die, b/c there is nothing depressing in them.  But when I got really bad it worked.  He also has this really crazy laugh that helps. :)

Do something fun.  You know, just getting some fresh air and sunshine also really helps sometimes.  Sun makes our bodies produce vitamin D which is a huge mood elevator.  This is why people who live waaayyyy up north and have months without sunshine (or however long it is) suffer from bad depression at those times.

Take care of yourself.

On the contrary.  You need them around for support and guidance.  I was very very depressed yesterday and did not want to do anything.  My fiance dragged my behind out of the house to go get a funny movie and some ice cream.  He had me laughing before we got home and feeling in better spirits.  The movie was funny and the ice cream yummy.  He made me do this, otherwise I would have stayed glued to the couch.  It is easier to get out of a manic or depressed mood on medication, but I still have swings.  I have been medicated for almost a year.  Each day gets easier, so hang in there and please surround yourself with loved ones when you need them.  Are they educated enough about BP to understand?
