I have been diagnosed with anemia for a couple years now, and every morning I take a dose of iron to help me get through the day. For the longest time I've been having trouble breathing, where I think I forget to breathe or something so when my body tells me I need to breathe, I have to take in a long, deep breath almost every time (as opposed to normal breaths). Most of the time, I'm taking a deep breath but it doesn't seem to fill my lungs up completely and I have to either force myself to yawn or take another deep breath. Another thing that happens is that when you usually breathe, your chest fills with the breath. However, sometimes, the breath goes to my head...and it feels very weird. I also sometimes have pain on the left side of my chest. These all seem connected in some way but I'm not sure what. I've been to my doctor before and she playfully teased me that all it is is that I'm forgetting to breathe sometimes. I am 16 years old and am at an average weight for my height and my age so I would like to think it's not something like that. My mom thinks that it's just my anemia and when I look up anemia, it says shortness of breath is a symptom, but I feel like that's something that is fixed with the iron pill. This breathing problem seems different. Please help me if you can!
