Brain Injury

I found my wife of 30 years in bed blue and not breathing. I called 911 and they took her to the hospital. The doctors told me that she was not going to make it that night. She finally came home with no problems at all. she was normal. After 1 week she started to be confushed and I took her back to the hospital. At this time she is still in the hospital and does not know where she is. She wets herself and so on. and needs getting dressed. She feeds her self and is able to do a lot of things. She knows all family members and all phone numbers.she can even read books and tell you what is on Tv. The Neurologist  tells me that he sees no brain injury thru the MRI or catscan. The phycitris tells me that there has to be brain damage. This is where I am at this time. She has medicare as a primary and blue cross blue shield as a secondairy insurence. If there is brain damage, will she get better with the proper help???

Did she get better Everet?

For others reading this post, people can have a brain injury (dead brain cells) though there is no sign on an MRI. Most people with brain injury are diagnosed this way and the correct specialist for testing and information is the neuropsychologist.

Well, therapy can sometimes help so don't wait on that. Its kind of like when people have to re-learn on how to walk... Hopefully she gets better, ill pray for you.

You may want another scan done, or have it looked at by someone else, second opinions can always help
