Pituitary patient possibly moving to the United States

Hello there.I suffered a Piuitary Apoplexy in 2004 and am now on various hormone replacements.
These include Steroids(hydrocortone), Growth Hormone 0.2mg per day, Testogel, Thyroid medication and Statins.
I'm from Ireland where luckily thanks to a state program I only pay 125 Euro per month for my drugs.
However after years of waiting I am on the verge of obtaining a Green Card to live and work in the United States.
I'm aware that Growth Hormine in paticular is expensive.
Could anyone give me an idea on how much it would cost for my medication in America.I'm not fully up to speed on the American Health system,insurance........etc.

Maybe someone could be of assistance?

Thank you............

Thanks for the advice. As much as I love the old US, it's not a place to be ill in. I have some serious decisions to make.

Cheers!

Hiya-
Growth hormone costs about $600 USD/10 mg pen. Thyroid meds are very inexpensive. Statins I dunno. Testogel I dunno. Probably looking at about $1000 per month USD for your meds although you may be able to get help from the pharmaceutical companies.

In the US we usually get our health insurance through our employer (or the spouse's employer). Given that you work full time. Depending on the company, they may have you pay a percentage of your medical insurance premium.

If you do not work then you buy private medical insurance.  It is very expensive if you have what they call preexisting conditions. You might not even be able to get it. That is one issue that Obamacare was trying to fix, I think?

So if you are planning to work then health insurance will be a part of your benefit package. If not you will have to pay out of packet.
