There is definitely a connection between allergies of any kind, immune deficiency and adrenal insufficiency. If there's an underlying adrenal problem, whether from primary insufficiency or secondary because of a pituitary disorder, this needs to be addressed, for more complete relief.
Taking Transfer Factor (if you can afford it!) helps enormously to reverse immune problems.
Definitely not alone ;-) Sinus issues were my first symptom I would say. I don't know if there is a connection but it would be interesting to see how many people have both. Do you take anything for your sinus's Sarah?
I may have to start using a saline solution - for a while I was using the nette pot but the minute I stop, the issues spring up immediately. With the nette pot I like that I'm not taking a drug though. I appreciate all the avenues tried, enzyme as I have done the same with the same results.....they work for a while but don't seem to address the underlying problem.
Thanks, its good to know I'm not the only one with both ;-)
Wow, I thought I was alone here. For several months now I have had severe sinus headaches and overall nose and sinus congestion. I blow my nose a ton throughout the day and have trouble sleeping at night from it. I have since started snorring my husband said too.
I have had a lot of sinus problems. I had sinus surgery to remedy it and that helped. I had it with my thyroid surgery. I use a lot of plain ol' saline when I have sinus issues. I make my own with a recipe my ENT gave me and that helps a lot.
That was pre and post op. I had the sinus surgery a few years before the pit surgery.
I don't have a lot of allergies though. Just mold and dust.
Hi - we've chatted before....can't remember if it was about this...think it was about fatigue which is what my major issue is at the moment. I think its time to return to an endo and get my hormones checked out again. I've been taking claritin which helps a bit but definitely does not address the issues the way I need them to be addressed. When you say, adrenal function test are you talking about the 24 hour cortisol test?
Thanks for the heads up about Bromelain enzyme as my nose has not healed in over two years...

Wellll... First we tried Vitamin C, then NAET, then homeopathy, then nutritional changes and enzymes. All of these things seemed to help for awhile with my son's sinus allergies (which appeared suddenly, along with eye sensitivity, before we knew he had the pit. tumor), but it didn't really resolve until he had the adrenal support that his body needed, from cortisol insufficiency. (Bromelain enzyme is great for nasal inflammation, however).
Now, I think anyone with allergies should have their adrenal function tested.
