Please help.

Does anyone out there know what a prominence on you pituitary is. I was told after an MRI that I have a 0.5 cm
prominence on the postierior lobe. Note that I had a pituitary tumor pressing on the optic nerve
removed July 2004.

I don't know about the wording you used, but the wording on my MRI says Pituitary Gland is prominant.  My dr. said it was due to the tumor pressing on it and pushing it forward or something.

Hi, I was going to respond the other day and the time just got away from me. I don't know what a mild prominence is. It would seem to me like it would mean an enlargement of the pituitary.....but I can't say for sure. I tried to do some reading on line about it and it just wasn't described in a way that I could relate it back. I looked back at my original mri and it said something about a mild prominence as well - the doctors didn't seem too worried about it which doesn't mean we shouldn't seek to understand what "mild prominence" means. I'll see if I can do a bit more research on line.
