Symptoms

im a 21 year old female.

Over the last month or so i have been suffering with hurrendous pressure head aches, these are especially in the mornings (as if i have a hangover).  I have also had simultaneous body spasms constantly...Friends and family have commented on my change in behaviour (irratic, bad-tempered and impatient).

At first i had thought i may have been pregnant, this has now been ruled out.

When ringing my doctor i was told to get my eyes tested first (have never done so previously)

I have been to the opticians my iop reading where right eye 29 and left eye 26 (but with 20/20 vision)

When readng up on my symtoms on the internet, i am getting articles on brain tumors coming back.  Is this likely?

cheers

Hey I was wondering why you thought that you were pregnant? Was it because your cycles stopped? A lot of women get diagnosed with Pituitary tumors this way as the Pituitary gland plays a big role in your cycles. Also there is a very common type of growth called a prolactinoma that can  cause many of the symptoms that you describe. I recommend that you have your doctor order some lab tests to test your pituitary function. If hormones are off kilter then you should be referred to a neuroendocrinologist for more testing. That's my 2 cents.

Your eye doctor could have commented on that - they can often tell and refer you to a neurologist if there are readings that they find suspicious.

The iop reading is more for glaucoma. Did he look at your optic nerve and say all was ok?

Still, given the change in behavior, I would still follow up with the MD and get a check up.
