I am a 22 year old virgin. I have been having fatigue, headaches, hot flashes, muscle and joint pain, and other vague symptoms for over 2 years now. I finally saw a gynecologist this last month regarding my abnormally short and light periods (now about 1 light day, previously 6-8 heavy days) as well as having irregular cycle lengths. He ran some basic hormone tests, including a progesterone - on day 21 of cycle, testerone, prolactin, and TSH. My testosterone isn't back yet but my TSH jumped from 1.5 to 4.2 in 1 month - it has fluctuated anywhere from 1.1-2.7 in the last year, but 4.2 is the highest it has ever gotten. My progesterone is 9.2 on day 21 (I thought it was supposed to be higher than that) and my prolactin is 48.3. I have a history of pituitary issues. I was diagnosed with pituitary dwarfism at the age of 12 (my bone age was about 9 and a half) and put on growth hormones for 2 years.
I am wondering if my levels are off enough to warrant concern yet? I haven't felt well in about 2-3 years and i am really desperate for some answers. I am waiting to hear from the office about what he thinks we should do next. I probably won't hear until next week. I had a scan done of my brain at age 12 and no tumor was found at that time, could I have one now? Does having the history predispose me to more hormonal issues?
I am not trying to get pregnant, I just feel sick all the time and hate it.
Thank you!
