effects of mri cotnrast on muscle mass/strength

so i have had pitituitary mris in the apst all with mri contrast gallodinum...and i am due for a followup mri today. Due to my pituitary problems ive always had poor appetite and a hard time increasing my strength/muscle mass even though i workout regularly. Well these past few months ive hadd my appetite back , and my muscle mass has returned. I am due for another rmri however and concerned that the mri contrast being a harmful chemical, will somehow be destructive to my body, and maybe be destructibe to my muscles/my appetite?

yeah ive had the test before, but i was doing very poorly with weightlifting and i was having a poor appetite at that time. I am for the first time  in a while that  ive had these health problems/issues, doing well in those areas.

Good then.
A pituitary MRI does get a good look at the brain anyway, FYI

Make sure that drink a lot of water to flush the gadolinium (spell checker where art thou?) out of your system quickly!
Let me know how the MRI comes out.

i just got back from my mri, and my script was for a pituitary mri, but  id prefer my whole brain to be rechecked also obbviously...since you never know

i asked the guy after the mri if he had done a full brain mri or just the pituitary...and he said ''i got a good portion of the brain;;

i don't understand why he did a lot of the brain but not all of it?

The side effects listed are: headaches, nausea, light headedness, and a decrease in blood pressure which are temporary. Then if you are allergic you can get sweating, skin rashes, itching and hives if it is mild or if is it not mild then irritation of the blood vessels and blood clots (those could be fatal).

They recently issued new guidelines - if you noticed they always ask about kidney testing and some places run a quick kidney test. That test is for "nephrogenic systemic fibrosis (NSF) is what comes to mind.  NSF is a fatal syndrome that results in the fibrosis of soft and connective tissue.  This includes the joints, skin and internal organs.  The most noticeable effect is that the skin will tighten and harden and the joints will stiffen up, making it harder and more painful to stretch and move parts of the body.  It is much easier to develop in patients with a history of renal (kidney) disease and failure."

If you have healthy kidney function you should be fine - but they tell you to drink after the scan to flush and they really want you to do so. How are your kidney tests?

Good to hear that you are doing well. If so, then why are you having an MRI again?

I don't know of a connection between the the contrast agent and appetite. But I've heard of folks having allergies and things like that to the contrast agents. They are probably not something that we want to expose our bodies too, if we can prevent it, I think. But then I would rather know about a pituitary tumor and take the chance myself.

I guess one thing to think about might be: did you have any issue with your appetite before your very first MRI? If you did have issues with your appetite before your very first MRI then it is probably not connected?
