Ranting about recent Dr. Visit

So I went to the Cleveland clinic... I suppose looking for a miracle. :-( .  I researched Dr's and found one that had many years of experience and lots of great reviews by medical societies... well, I think I found the wrong one.

To comment on some positive aspects, he spent over an hour with me talking about the packet of the last years worth of test results I brought him.  He made a suggestion that I shouldn't be on a generic thyroid medicine and my Dr. should know better that generics aren't reliable enough.  He suggested I go off my Dostinex for a period of a month to a month and half to retest my prolactin and see how high it increases before doing my next scheduled MRI.  I have skipped 3 doses now and have begun lactating again as of yesterday... I think it's safe to say my levels have increased! :-(

Negatives about the visit... he spent so much time making jokes and reviewing my labs that he never listened to my symptoms.  He at one point asked me if I was depressed and recommended talking to a therapist.  (Basically gave me the "it's in my head" speech... Yeah it's a friggin tumor, of course it's in my head! LOL.  (humor).  He argued that there was no way I had adrenal insufficincy based on my labs and suggested I could continue to test for Cushings though if I wanted.  When I tried to bring up my Renin Plasma test, salt cravings, flank pain, fatigue, etc... he shushed me and said "you don't have insufficincy".

When I told him my first MRI showed only a prominant gland and no visible tumor and that the report said it couldn't rule out a tumor based on that first imaging and repeat should be preformed... he said "why?".  Uh, hello because without medicine I lactate and feel like h*ll!

He also poopoo'd my increasingly high WBC, Neutrophils and RBC. Each test they come back higher and higher and he blew that off...

Overall I left feeling like I made the trip for nothing.  Any recommendations anyone could make would be nice. :-)

So frustrating isn't it!  I guess I had high hopes to travel to a Dr. that came so highly recommended.  Then for him to treat me like a lab test instead of a patient with symptoms and feelings, I was greatly disapointed. Oh well, I can't dwell on that, I just have to keep on looking.

I figured he'd run tests, but he did not.  He didn't request a single blood test, CT, MRI, sonogram, nothing.  He also didn't refer me to any other Dr. I could see while up there even though I told him I had planned on staying through til the next day.

I figured I would go ahead and stay off the dostinex at this time, just to give myself and my dr as well as any other dr's I might see a second high prolactin value for them to continue treating me as someone who needs treatment. :-P  I'll go back on it as soon as I prove it's actually treating something to them! For a few more weeks, I guess I'll just be leaky. :-P

Ah yes... I think I have met a few docs similar to him.
If he ran any tests, get copies - but do not waste your time on this guy again...
Time for a new guy (this is of course, cruddy advice as it is so obvious.... but the best I can give at this time).
I think going back on your dostinex would be good as well.
