2nd opinion

Earlier this year I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. The pathology stated  In Situ and Invasive Ductuasl Carcinoma 2.2c.m ,Nuclear  Grade2 and ER Positive 99%. I had a biopsy (lateral and deep) and a lumpectomy but did not receive clear margins and as a result my surgeon recommended a  Masetectomy. There was also 50 clusters of cancerous cells in Sentinel Lymph Node 2  A s a result I am a bit concerned that I am making the right decision, therefore  I have decided to have another opinion. Please advice if i should I go to another Surgeon or a Medical Oncologist for my 2nd opinon. At times i am  so confused and scared .

I am  57yearsold  and had four treatments of chemo .After completion i had a MRI, Ultrasound and FIA which was fine.i am still awaiting my results from thePET/CT scan. Prior to my treatment of chemo i had a bone and Pet/Scan which also was fine.

Thank you and God's Blessings!

I am  so sorry for not being clear with my question.  Seeing that I was advised to have mastectomy ; I  have decided to have a second opinion. My question was who should I go to ?. Should it be a Surgeon or a Medical Oncologist? I have completed chemotherapy treatment.

Based on your answer  I gather it should be a Surgeon. Correct?

Thank you and continue doing your good works

God's Blessings!

Dear babes23:  We are a bit confused by your question.  We cannot tell where you are in your treatment. If your question is regarding the type of surgery you should have, you would want a surgical opinion. If the question relates to chemotherapy and/or endocrine therapy, you will want an opinion from a medical oncologist.
