5mm Nodule in Breat

On Mammo they found a 5mm nodule that was not there before they do not have the BI-RAD rating on the report i received. They have suggested I see a surgeon as I have a two breast surguries for fibro-adonemoas ?? before. Do you think this could be cancer and should I have it taken ot ASAP

Dear missmc895:  Without reviewing the mammogram, it is impossible for us to speculate on what this might be.  Our recommendation is to follow up with the breast surgeon who can hopefully explain what the mammogram shows and make appropriate recommendations.

I would certainly follow the recommendation of the Radiologist and see a Surgeon concerning the nodule. Perhaps your family Dr., or whomever ordered the mammogram will receive a complete report. If they did recommend an appnt. with a Surgeon I would guess that a BIRAD 4 was probably the score assigned even if I wasn't in the report you received. I certainly wouldn't ignore the finding; especially since you have had some experience with breast issues in the past.
