I had a core biopsy done just about a week ago. Is it true it takes 2 weeks to get results?
Dear Gramma Jean: Intraductal papillomas are non-cancerous wart-like growths with a branching or stalk that has grown inside the breast. These usually occur within a duct and may cause bloody nipple discharge. Fibrocystic breast condition is a common, non-cancerous condition that affects more than 50% of women at some point in their lives. The most common signs of fibrocystic breasts include lumpiness, tenderness, cysts (packets of fluid), areas of thickening, and fibrosis (scar-like connective tissue). Neither papilloma not fibrocystic changes increase the risk of malignancy. In other words, there is no cancer in your biopsy. It was totally benign.
