I hope the mammogram brings benign results!

But it does sound like you might still, or again, have an infection, so be sure to discuss your symptoms with your doctor.

I had my biopsy in the end of March of this year. The results were negative for any malignancy.  It was an infection and I was put on antibiotics for close to 10 days.  I now get cramp like symptoms and pain and heaviness in the breast.  I am scheduled for a follow up Mamo tomorrow.  I hope the results are not indicating any malignancy.

Thanks.

How long has it been since the biopsy?  There are lymph nodes in the breast that could be swollen, the lymph system is how the body rids itself of infection.  It takes time to heal and for the swelling to subside.

I forgot to mention the details -
The biopsy was done on April 1st 2011.  I was put on two different kinds of antibiotics for a 10 days or so.

Thanks

I am sorry that you are still having pain.

You did not mention how long ago you had the infection that was treated with antibiotics.

Sometimes these infections are difficult to clear up, and need additional treatment. Sometimes they recur and you again need treatment. And, unfortunately, sometimes they  become chronic.

You should let the doctor who treated you know that you are still, or again, having symptoms, and s/he will recommend what should be done.

Best wishes,
