ERPR negitive breast cancer

My mother was recently diagnosed breast cancer that is ERPR negitive and HER2 negitive.  I have had difficultly finding infromation about this type of breast cancer.  I am worried because the oncologist suggested that she take her chemo dose dense, therefore she goes every two weeks.  I understand that it means that her cancer is not enduced by her hormones, but what are the risks and stats on this type.  I would just like more information on what this means.

Hi, I am Er+ and Her2- so not in the same situation as your Mom. I live in England and there is a brilliant breast cancer care site (a national charity driven site) here if you want to post there. There are lots of women with triple neg tumours. It is: breastcancercare.co.uk I am sure you will get immediate responses from women in the same situation as your Mom. Their replies may help you in formulating a decision, as they have been there and done that.
Take care
with love,
Liz.

Dear tturner:  Cancer that is ERPR negative means that the cancer is not "fed" by estrogen or progesterone.  It also means that the patient is unlikely to benefit from hormonal therapy such as tamoxifen or aromatase inhibitors that block estrogen.  HER 2 is an antigen that is over-expressed on the surface of some breast cancer cells.  Tumors that are HER 2 negative are not likely to respond to treatment with Herceptin, which targets the HER 2 antigen.  Dose dense therapy is recommended based on the specifics regarding the stage of the cancer and the risk for recurrence.  Your mother's doctor will be best able to give you the specific information on your mother's stage of cancer and the risks for recurrence and other statistics.
