Follow Up with Gynocologist

Thank you so much for this site!  Besides follow-up with my surgeon and oncologist, should I be seeing my gynocologist.  My surgeon schedules my mamograms.  What type of tests should by gynocologist conducting and what should he/she be looking for.  I am a 46 year old, diagnosed in November 2004, 2.4 cm, 1 node positive, er+ pr+.  Had chemo (adriamyicin, cytoxin and taxotere), radiation and have been on tomoxifan sincing finishing chemo.  I have not had a menstrual period since my first chemo treatment in January 2003.

Also, how do I find a gynocologist who is up-to-date on breast cancer.  My gynocologist seems uncomfortable with the whole thing.  Again -- thank you -- you are all angels!

Dear CarolynK, Follow up with the gynecologist would be for your pap tests and pelvic exams, and if there were specific gynecologic problems.  If your primary care doctor does your pap tests/pelvic exams then the gynecologist would be needed only if there are specific gynecologic problems.  Follow up regarding the breast cancer would continue with the surgeon and/or your oncologist.
