Wednesday, I had my annual mammogram. This is the first time in 15 years that I was told that 'something' showed up.
The Breast specialis, I saw immediately after the mammogram, viewed the films.
He said there is something in the left breast near the chest wall about the size of a lemon drop. They were too booked up for me to get an ultreasound that day so I will return this Wednesday for the ultrasound.
The breast Doctor told me that if the radiologist thinks it is a cyst, it is my call whether to have it drained or not.
I have NO IDEA what to do. I sure would like to know what this thing is but do not want to appear, panicky.
There is no cancer in our family but I have been on estrogen for 15 years.
Is an aspiration uncomfortable via a radiolgist since this abnormality is so far inward?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You.
