I had swollen nodes also and I was diagnosed with DCIS Breast Cancer with node involvement. I had a masectomy with TRAM reconstruction and am now in chemo, then radiation. What is the chance that this will show up in my other breast? What are the chances that this will spread to other parts of my body? I am 42yo white female, social smoker, no family history. I had CT Scans done on my chest, pelvis, bone scan, and PET Scans which were all normal. I am considered Stage 2. Is this beatable?
Dear Mary, Lymphadenopathy just means that you have swollen lymph nodes. Several things can cause the lymph nodes to swell for example infection. Lymph nodes can also become swollen because of a cancer problem. Further evaluation, as you are doing, is needed to determine the cause.
