Mastectomy Scar

I had a bilateral mastectomy about three years ago.  I could not have reconstructive surgery as I had radiation 10 years ago and my breast did not heal with the expander in it.  My question is, I have been working out and it has made my scar feel like it has three sutures in it (at the beginning, middle and end, under my arm).  It is beginning to be very uncomfortable.  Should I go back to my surgeon.  Is there a test I can have to see if there is anything there?

You absolutely can have reconstruction. I would suggest DIEP reconstruction. Look it up and see if it's for you. I had it done a year and a half after my mastectomy and I love the way I look now. Just make sure you go to the best.

I went to Dr. Frank DellaCroce in New Orleans... feel free to research on this... learn more find out more...

Dear conbon:  You should consider going back to your surgeon and if he cannot help a good breast cancer plastic surgeon may be able to help.
