Pea sized hard sore lump in arm pit

by Irish Chick, Aug 30, 2004 12:00AM
Hi, I have a small pea sized hard lump under my left arm near the pit, visible to the eye - sore when pressed or tight clothes rub off it, could this be something like an ingrown hair? (there isn't ususally hairs on that part of my armpit) or could it be a cyst? Should I get it checked? 29 yr old female. Thank you.

Dear Irish Chick:  Your description of this sounds like a pimple or ingrown hair.  However, if it does not resolve in a week or two, or becomes worse, have your doctor take a look at it.
