small pea like lumps in both breast

I will try to fit a lot in a short history. To start I am a 38 year old with no insurance. I have pea size lumps in both breast, two in the left on each side and in the right side one is on the top outside and a few by my underarm. I am a little fearful of what they could be. At 13, started my period. Heavy for 12 to 15 days had cramps; Fibrocystic (told without a biopsy). At 18 I was in bad shape, there was found a 2cm cyst on my left ovary, it was told to me that there was not a cyst and it was in my head.  However, it was not willing to play the game, it ruptured and a week later I went in for an appendectomy, with a possible cystectomy. Hours later they had repaired both ovaries for the right was involved. 3 months later I was in the same position, again it was in my head for they could not see a cyst on the left ovary. A week went and the same operation with a possible oophorectomy, again within 3 months it started all over with one difference, the pain was on the right. Pap of class 3 so to be sure it was correct 3 more were sent to 3 labs they came back that or more.  Do to the laws made to wait for 30 days for the authorization to have a hysterectomy. This was done in July of 1984. I have had no live births 18 of 21 years I had HRT. It was given in a shot with testosterone (this was for the Fibrocystic) do not remember if I received prempro but do know that i was given the combination estrogen and progestin. I have heard the HRT can cause breast, is there a particular type or is it all HRT? Moreover, are the lumps anything to worry about?  Thank you

Proposed Answer:  Dear mloffer:  Breast tissue can feel lumpy and bumpy (particularly if you have been told you have fibrocystic disease) and the key to self-examination is looking for changes.  Nonetheless, lumps need to be evaluated.  Perhaps there is a "free" or "discounted" clinic in your area that can perform a breast examination and help locate discount additional testing if needed.  Also, you might check with the local department of social services to see if there are any options for getting you medical coverage.  Regarding HRT, the recent large study demonstrating an increase in breast cancer risk used Prempro which is a combination estrogen/pregesterone.  Most women who have had a hysterectomy are treated with estrogen alone which, so far, has not been clearly shown to increase the risk of breast cancer.
