I am so sorry to hear about your mother.  My grandmother had been a breast cancer survivor for almost 15 years when they diagnosed her with liver cancer.  She was only given 3 months. And thats about all it took for the cancer to get her.
I spent as much time as I could with her and made her as comfortable as possible.  My prayers are with you and your mother. May God's grace and mercy be with you.

Please beware of the postings of Elainehz.  She has posted under many of the topics today.  She is only peddling her wares.
RISE UP - this should make all of us VERY, VERY angry to have these people come and play additional games with our emotions.

I will keep you and your Mother in my prayers.  It might be a dark trip for you, but in the end there is light.  Your Mother will be free !  In God we must Trust.  Nangel50

Dear hard:  The prognosis of stage IV breast cancer in an older person depends upon many factors, including her general health and the extent of the cancer.  While the toxicities of some treatments may not be in her best interest, there may be other options that could be considered.  It may be worth having a second opinion to confirm the best way to care for your mother moving forward.
