Sudden lump in male nipple

Sudden lump in male nipple

Hi,

Earlier today I noticed a small lump just beside my left nipple. I know it was not there yesterday, or even early this morning. It seems like it just appeared within the last few hours. It's a solid but semi soft mass, as in I can feel a knot, or lump, under the skin, half inside my nipple and half out. Also, it is causing some swelling. It hurts to touch it and it sort of aches when I'm not touching it. I do not see any bite marks etc. to explain it as a bite or sting, however the site is a little red. I am 20 years old and athletic, not overweight.

I do not think it's anything serious, but I am somewhat concerned because of how suddenly it showed up and the fact that it's painful, with no obvious bites or stings. It just appeared. Any input would be appreciated.

Dear Chill36,  It is impossible over the internet to say what this is without ability to assess including physical examination. The skin on the breast is like skin on the rest of the body and subject to a variety of conditions.  If it does not resolve in a few days you may want to have it checked by a health care professional.

I am 14 and I am having the same issue. I feel like heat on my right areola and the skin surrounding it on the chest. I see bit marks however and I am extremely red and swollen where I was bitten. I know that I have allergic reactions to most bug bites (I swell extremely) and I know the only the works is putting ice on it to reduce swelling. I'd get checked out, but the one time I went my doctor just told me to put a higher grade neosporin on it. So just feel it out.
