Please, please, someone hear me!!! I too have had devastating consequences from pedicle tram flap surgery in December 2001. It is now almost January 2006 and I am still seeking some hope for this life altering surgery. I have had three major surgeries since in hopes to correct the problem but with no avail. I too have bulging in my abdomen, but on the NON-SURGICAL side. The rectus muscle which was removed and mesh inserted is not the problem. The rectus which remains feels like a two by four which has been implanted under my chest wall and the bulging DEMANDS support of some type. I have tried corsets, girdles, ace bandages, tape, manual support, devices made by prosethetic professionals all with no success. This is NOT an aesthetic or vanity problem. It limits my most basic level of function. It is debilitating and affects not only my physical ability but my mental well being as well.
As the other victim explains, this surgery can cause absolutely life destroying ability and if there is ANYONE out there who cares and who is not afraid to touch us, please STEP FORWARD!!!!
Please check out this web site,
there is great information.

Dear Chloe Hiatt: One suggestion is to consider a second opinion at a large academic medical center where a corrective surgical procedure could be done with a team approach. That is that experts in plastic surgery as well as general surgery might be able to work together to accomplish a procedure that would improve both function and asthetics.
