Worried about lymph node swelling

I am a 26 year old female that is concerned about an increase in the number of palpable lymph nodes. I have had my doctor check the nodes on different occasions over the coarse of a year and she told me not to worry. She contends that my slight frame makes them more obvious and since they are movable and non-firm I should not worry. I moved in the last year and have failed to mention my concerns to my new MD...worrrying I will be disregarded. I did aske my new doctor to check my labs and I do not have mono and my CBC is normal.
I started to forget about the multiple nodes in my neck with the average size of 1.5-2cm until I found an enlarged firm axillary node 2mos ago. I have also been struggling with fatigue and night sweats for the past year. I often feel tired after sleeping over 8hrs and people comment I look tired more often. I have a family hx of breast cancer and one relative with lymphoma.
Should I be worried or was the first doctor I saw correct? I scheduled an appt my new MD for my yearly exam and want to bring up my concerns. What should I expect from her? Is a biopsy the appriopriate action?
REMEMBER I have been told previous my lymph nodes ar palpable because of my slight frame what do I do if I am told this again? My weight has not improved since my visit I am 5ft4in and 102lbs.
Thanks for listening any input would be welcomed.

Dear jenzie:  Without examination it is not possible for us to speculate on whether these lymph nodes feel abnormal or require further evaluation.  It is true that lymph nodes can often be felt in thin people, however a 2 cm lymph node in neck is larger than expected.  In addition, since the axillary lymph node appears to be new, it should be evaluated.  If you are concerned, you need to bring this to the attention of your doctor.  With examination, your doctor will be better able to make appropriate recommendations if additional evaluation is needed.
