Underarm pain

I recently noticed a dull pain, almost an "electric" feeling under my left arm.  It seems to get worse with my monthly cycle.  It also seems a little swollen and tender to the touch.  Should I be concerned with this being linked to breast cancer?

I've been having the same kinda of pain for months now.  I've been blowing it off by thinking it has to do with working out.  I recently went to my OBGYN for a check up and she said she felt a cyst and I have to go for a mammo.  Can they be related?  I have to say I'm a little nervous.

Dear jo anne:  There are many possible explanations for the discomfort that you are feeling.  If you are concerned, you should see your doctor for an examination.  From there, it can be determined whether any additional investigation is necessary.
