Dear ani72, It is not unusual that new hair after chemotherapy may grow back differently;  a different color or texture.  Over time it may revert back to a texture similar to what it was prior to chemotherapy but that may take many months, and it might not revert back to what it was like pre-chemo.   Shaving your head again would not guarentee that the texture would be different.   You may want to discuss this with your hair stylist.  They may be able to recommend products that would be easy on this new hair that may help to get your new hair style similar to your pre-chemotherapy look.

Dear Ani17, I have been a hairdresser for several years and have had several clients go through this. It is my experience that many clients do have a change in the texture of there hair (often curly). I do not recommend that you shave your head again but really condition and baby this hair for awhile. In my experience, often it will go back to its original texture (or close). Check into Nioxin products, they were originally developed for chemo patients and have the ability to detoxify the hair and scalp and promote healthy hair growth. Good luck to you with your recovery :)
