Hi,

Like i said in my previous posts there are documented studies about the role of tamoxifen in breast fibroadenoma cases.

If you are very skeptical about taking any medications, you could talk to your doctor and just carry on regular breast self examination and periodic clinical examinations by your specialist. You would also need 6 monthly or annual mammograms as advised by your doctor.

Let us know if you have any other doubts and post us about how you are doing.

Hi,
Thanks for your advise.
Since i knew that i had fibrioandenoma, i had already checked my breast 3 times by ultrasound. And the doctor notice that some are change in size. Some is getting bigger and others still in the same size.
I really in a big doubt, cause the specialist said that the pills is an anti hormon, to make them stop growing. And i had to take the pills for a month twice daily. Is it safe for to take the pills? Cause i'm affraid of the side effect.
Is there any way or other medicine that make it stop growing?
Thank you.

Hi,

There are several reported studies about the effect of tamoxifen in reducing the volume/size of fibroadenomas or benign breast disease in women.

I think you should discuss this with your specialist in detail, so that you are clear about why the medication has been prescribed and for how long does it need to be taken.

You do not need a biopsy if your specialist is sure about the diagnosis - just follow up with him regularly. You should carry out regular breast self examinations and report any abnormal features like change in size, shape that you notice any skin changes or nipple discharge to your doctor.

Let us know if you have any other doubts and also post us on how you are doing and what your doctor advises.

Hope this helps.

Regards.
