nipple itch

I was diagnose with bc last year, stage I, grade III.  I received quemo, radio, and now I'm on herceptin and lupron.  I had a Pet Scan on july and everything appears normal.  No sign of recurrence.  But in the past 2 weeks or more I have experience itch in the right nipple (the same breast that I had the tumor). I've read about the Paget's disease.  It is possible that I have a recurrance since my Pet Scan came out clear?

Thanks for answering my question.  You mentioned pigmentations problems.  I have notice that my right nipple is become darker than when I finished my radio.  In reference of my Pet Scan the report said:  "Mild tissue reaction noted along the outer quadrant-lumpectomy site.  Likewise, mild skin thickening noted, non-FDG avid and likely post-radiation in nature."  I supose everything is ok, but I already make an appointment with my doctor.

Thanks

Hi.

If the PET scan came out clear, then it is rather unlikely that this itchiness is significant in relation to your cancer.  Paget's disease may indeed present with itchiness, but this should be accompanied by some form of eczematous skin and nipple changes as well as some form of pigmentation problems

I'm glad to hear that your PET scan is OK.  It is recommended that you continue to follow up with your physician.  Regards and God bless.
