on and off pain after lumpectomy

hello,

I am 40 yo asian female  and had my lumpectomy last Aug.23, 2008.

My biopsy result is "fibrocystic change with sclerosing  adenosis".

My wound is ok now. But i feel a tolerable pain from time to time.

sometimes extends to my armpit and hands. My work involves travelling

and I started working a week after my lumpectomy.Does it contribute to the pain?

If the pain is just natural after lumpectomy, how many months it lasts?

And after lumpectomy, when will I have my regular breast ultrasound?

Is the biopsy result ok? Thank you very much.

Dear marisel:  The result of the biopsy is benign. Sclerosing adenosis is an overgrowth of cells that can cause a lump and can be associated with breast pain.  Pain after surgery can vary widely and things may not feel “normal” for a while.  You should discuss follow up and ultrasound with your doctor.
