red soar spot on breast

Hi, recently I noticed a red painful the size of a quarter and kinda itchy sopt on my lower left breast. I have never had this before and i was wondering what it might be. Yesterday i noticed a piece of skin, very thin come off of it.  This has me worried and i will be going to the docter, but i would like some advice or let me know what it might be.  Thanks

Dear bc430543:  The breast, being skin covered with skin, is subject to skin problems as any other skin on your body.  There are many possibilities of what this could be, many of which are benign.  The only way to know for sure is to have your doctor take a look at this, then an appropriate diagnosis and treatment recommendations can be made.
