Very Worried

Hi I had burning stabbing pain in my right breast last friday and saturday on and off. I went to my doctor who found a lump and is fairly sure it's a cyst. I also have tingling feelings in my breast and tenderness under my arm. I am very worried about this. I have an app with a breast surgeon on Wednesday. Can my doctor know for sure by feeling the lump that it's a cyst? I am really afraid that I have cancer. My breast also feels warmer at times than  my other one. I am 34 married with 2 young children.
Any thoughts, advice would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Jackie

Dear Jackie, A lump may feel more or less suspicious, however, further evaluation is usually needed to be sure.

Hi Jackie, I've had 2 benign breast cysts aspirated in the last 3 years. Both times when they "thought" they were a cyst they really WERE! An ultrasound will tell you for sure. Can you find a breast specialist to see? They usually have ultrasounds they do right in the office. If it is a simple cyst, they will either leave it be, or aspirate it with a fine needle.
