What you probably saw was a doppler configuration of the ultrasound which measures blood flow or blood movement in the area examined. There can be blue or red colors appearing on doppler which signifies blood flow activity. A stationary red patch may mean that the lesion examined is a vascular one, which may be a hemangioma or arterio-venous malformation. What is more important is the final impression that the sonologist wrote in the report, whether these red spots are of clinical importance.
