update on ultrasound of axilla lump

joi
I posted a few days ago about the follow-up ultrasound on the enlarged gland under my arm..I got the results and now this facility is stating that the 1.1 cm is a probable lymph node..it says a predominantly hyperechoic solid mass .there was no mention of a fatty hilum w/ was mentioned 5 wks ago..it says this study should not preclude biopsy of any palpable abnormality..it also said I should have a f/u mammo and ultrasound after I have the baby if I do not get a biopsy..has this chnaged or is it because I went to a different facility? the other radiologist was not concerned and recommended no f/u

Dear joi, It is difficult to say for sure. There is some degree of difference from scan to scan even in the same facility.  Also radiologists will have some differences in how they report their findings.  It sounds like the second radiologist was covering all bases, but let your breast surgeon put the results together along with the recommendations, with what they have found on physical exam and discuss with you what would be the recommended next step.
