And something is terribly wrong if Christians think Politics shouldn't be discussed. And thats not my opinion. That's just how it is.
In my humble opinion, Christianity and Politics should work together, not against each other like they have been for such a long time. It is so sad how so many Christian brothers and sisters are at each others throats and hating each other due to political differences.
It should not be about party, whether you are democrat, republican, independent, it should be about bonding together, to fight for our country and our God as one nation. What about the phrase in the Pledge of Allegiance "One Nation Under God." That is how it should be. Not One nation under "Obama" or any other mortal, no, no, no.
I had heard that Mr Obama wanted this day for the Muslims but, that he was not going to sponsor any more days of prayer, that is wrong. OK, if he wants this for the muslims, that is his prerogative, however, as Christians, we need to stand up and fight for our rights and beliefs as well. So many churches, sadly do NOT stand up for the rights of the Christian, shame on them, they are afraid of not having enough money in the basket on Sunday. I also get very upset that we can not sing Christmas Carols in school, but that one school sure made sure those kindergärtners sang a song for Obama, that really sickened me. It is very one-sided, and like it or not, it is getting more so daily.
I, for one, don't normally feel that the president should be made fun of, etc, but, on the other hand, when they act like this one does, a truly decent person can not help but say things that are against him, they are only telling the truth. He has only been in office for 6 months, and already look at how our country is heading, it is downright scary. He is evil, dog-gone it, just plain evil and he does not care about what we want, it has to be his way or the highway. There is a very large percentage of folks that do NOT want this health care bill, yet, he is working overtime to get it in, it is a dangerous bill, and they will not even post it on the net, this tells me they want to hide things.
If it were not for FOX news, folks would not be told the truth. I no longer listen or watch CNN, CBS, NBC, or ABC, they are all in bed with Obama and his ideas, it is disgusting to me.
Well, I could go on and on, but my neck is hurting, so you get a break from this rant, LOL, but, I will end by saying that America is a wonderful country, and it is up to us to get those values and principles back to what they used to be, us and of course the Lord; and churches, beware, you better start standing up more for Christ too and not being afraid of what your congregations will say.
Amen and Amen!!!!!!
I guess it is truly a good thing that GOD looks upon the heart, is it not. Who else can judge? Time will tell. I cannot in earnest be a party to the judgement in the name of religion here. It has been an eyeopening event and I will be moving on. God Bless All. God Bless America and I lift my President up in Prayer that my God may use him as a vessel to help Gods will be done, not mans.
I'm not sure I understand, Teko. How was he being judgmental? He said we need to take a stand for our faith, which is true, but we should do it in love and prayer, with our eyes on Him.
Have you ever read the Left Behind books or saw the movie? When the anti-christ comes, he's a powerful man who has everyone in love with him. He is very charming, offers peace, etc. and the whole world adores him. All but the ones who belong to Jesus. In the movie, the reporter who is in the UN meeting with him and everyone else is the only one who sees the man for who he is because the Holy Spirit opens his spiritual eyes. He's very frightened, of course, and also very cautious. He has to be to stay alive. He learns to depend on God and only God. I know this is just a fiction movie but it's pretty accurate on what will happen in end days.
The bible says we do have to be wise and watchful, always praying, because the anti-christ will deceive many people unless we stay close to God.
I'm in no way saying Obama is the anti-christ (actually, I don't believe he is unless God shows me different) but someday we may still be alive to witness the anti-christ rise to power and we must be prepared.
There's a way to be respectful of our leaders while still putting God first. We have to be first obedient to God, then our leaders. We should always obey our leaders unless God tells us no. That's why it's so important to listen to God and stay very close to Him so that we know what to do.
Does any of that make sense? Sorry, I know things can get mixed up on paper when I know what I'm thinking but I may not have written it all down the way I'm thinking. I hope that wasn't confusing!
Yes, we need to respect and pray for our leaders but we must first be obedient to God. He will guide us as to what we should do when we learn to listen and trust Him. If our leaders ask us to do something in true opposition to God such as in OT days when the leaders would ask the people to worship them and their statue. Were the people respectful of the leaders? Yes, but they would not worship them. Do you see what I'm saying? There's a way to be respectful to our leaders but we must not do any ungodly things they may ask us to do.
I'm disappointed that you are leaving. I'd like to think we could all share our faith, fears, thoughts, ask questions, learn and grow on here. That is my true desire. I don't think anyone should be afraid to share their feelings here. I want this to be a safe place for us all to share, learn and grow.
God bless you, Teko. Please pray and reconsider leaving. We would love to have you on here. We need all people with all different personalities and feelings to challenge each other so that we can learn and grow.
I don't want to see the devil cause division among us and get our eyes off of what's truly important, worshiping and drawing closer to our Lord and Savior, as well as each other.
We are the body of Christ and each one of us is just as important as the other. The body needs all it's parts, arms, legs, eyes, etc. It's when we come together in harmony that we truly glorify God. I pray we can all truly learn to do that. I believe we can.
I have no idea where you thought this thread was about Obama....has nothing to do with him..It has to do with church(the body of Christ), standing up for wahts wrong in this world and country. That can go from politics, to hollywood, to households.
Hmmm, I guess the "Obama" part is my fault, I only mentioned him as I was trying to make a point as to how our churches and nations need to take a stand. I don't apologize for my beliefs and what I wrote, but, if it was not appropriate for this thread, I do apologize, you may remove it if you wish.
I did forget to add, that even though I don't agree with President Obama I do pray for him, as that is what the Lord commands us to do, I pray for all of our leaders and I pray for their salvation as well.
My prayer is that we can all get to the point where we can trust each other to open up enough about our questions or beliefs and not fear rejection for it.
Y'all should look up "We Are the Body" by Casting Crowns on youtube and listen to it.
Jesus Saved Us 2000 years ago He is our Savior, and LifeGuard. Now He's teaching us How To Learn how to Swim Upstream because the battle for souls is still raging down here!!!! Especially Now we need to be Loving, Compassionate, Strong, Courageous, Tolerant, Forgiving, and learn to Co-exist. If you Believe in Jesus be like Jesus and teach others through your actions not just your words. "Be the difference you wish to see in others and the world." ~ Mahatma Gandhi "We are GOD's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do Good Works, which GOD prepared in advance for us to do." ~ Ephesians 2:10 (NIV)
In John 13:34 Jesus says to His apostles, "I give you a new commandment, Love one
another. As I have Loved you By this all men/woman shall know that your my disciples.
So you also should Love one another." In this verse Jesus' Love for us is the standard we should follow in Loving one another. We as Christians should always keep in mind Jesus' Unconditional Love for us. Think of the impact we could make in our own lives and in the lives of others each and every day. A Smile, a Wave, a Thank You, it goes along way to help make the day peaceful and enjoyable for all we meet. Jesus did these very same things each day of His Life. The study of Scripture reveals to us the many times He helped change people's lives for the better. Recall He forgave the woman at the well. He showed compassion at Peter's denial, and He comforted the thief on the cross next to Him. These were Loving and Caring examples He gave to us to live by. Since Jesus is The only begotten Son of the GOD The Father and Our Savior, let us live and forgive, and Love as He did - Unconditionally.
Love, peace, faith, and light....
