How long CBC , ESR can help to evalute our health?

Hi, Hope to find answer which will change my entire thinking and my life...

I was very young (15 years) I heard from a doctor on TV that early diagonise for cancer can help curing...since that I feel fobia from sickness specially cancer and any small symtom can disturb my life and let me run for blood test!

Later some good friend (medicine student) told me that this message I heard from the doctor meant to motivate poeple not to ignore medical check up when there is any syptom... and specially those who had never did a single blood test..

My question when I do CBC and ESR, which I did 3 months ago and was fine, this test will evaluate my health for how long???  I need to stop worrying!

Hi.  If you don't have any symptoms, you do not need to have a CBC or ESR done routinely.  The CBC and ESR are also of limited value in screening for the presence of cancers, so I really don't see any reason why you should have this done.  The CBC and ESR have specific uses (example: in evaluating infectious or inflammatory conditions), and can only serve as valid indicators of a person's health status when used correctly.
