Lung Carcinoid - Surgical

In Spring 2007 i was diagnosed with lung carcinoids.  I am currently a 48 year old woman.  In September 2007 i underwent a left lower lobectomy.  Currently, there are other 'spots' on my right lung which have not been biopsied yet as they are unchanged so far.  I have been told, that when and if they do change, another bronchoscopy/video procedure and biopsy may be in order.

My question is, i have been very sick since this diagnosis with severe chills, coughing, bouts of uncontrollable diareaha, weakness headache, shortness of breath etc.  I have had several courses of antibiotics, several chest xrays and ct's looking for lung clots etc etc.  It is dibilitating to say the least.  I 'swell' up quite often in the legs, feet, hands and face.  During the staging, i did have ocetride scan and none of the tumors were 'marked' as carcinoid (although the biopsy pre surgery and post surgery clearly confirmed that the 3 tumors removed WERE carcinoid.   I don't notice any visual flushing, but i do have alot of tightness, soreness in my chest and throat and neck.  I have a couple of inhalers that relieve the tightness for very short periods of time, but the coughing and weakness are almost unbearable.

Does this sound like carcinoid symdrome?  Anyone experiencing the same symptoms or anyone who can help me shed some light on this would be greatly appreciated as i am desperate at this point

Thank you

Vicki
