The measurement of Tumor M2-PK in EDTA-plasma is used in tumor patients
to assist in diagnosis and to follow-up and monitor the response to therapy in
many different cancers, including renal cell cancer, lung cancer, breast
cancer, colorectal cancer, pancreatic cancer, ovarian cancer, prostrate
cancer, gastric cancer, oesophageal carcinoma and cervical cancer, for
example.

Hello, and sorry to hear of the changes for your father, recently we have found my husband to have a 2mm nodule after Kidney Cancer in 2009, and full removal of right kidney. It is interesting as it appears not much is known about this cancer and how to treat it, we are our own advacates, so keep up the good work.;-) As for your question about the Onkomarker M2PK it is a blood test for preliminarily diagnosis of nonsmall cell lung cancer and if further treatment is necessary. The tests because of their simplicity and low cost can be used for the detection of groups of patients with preliminarily diagnosed nonsmall cell lung cancer needing additional methods of examination for more exact staging of the disease and exclusion of remote metastases and more active using adjuvant method of treatment. The use of tumor pyruvate kinase can be perspective for clinical oncopulmonology. Hope this helps!!;-) God Bless you in your fight to beat this and Bless you for helping your father..
