I have had a gradual increase in size of my left testicle, and two years ago it got 4 times bigger and then it went to the size of a grapefruit cut in half. I am now 63 I finally got serious about this and had a Urologist look at it.  Did the ultrasound and found no cancer.  This was November 2008.  Had to postpone surgery until this month January 2009 due to family business.  DR found three hidracelle (not sure its spelled correctly).  Had to cut across the testicle to remove them.  I have been bed-ridden for a couple of days with a darn drainage tube.  Lots of blood and yellow stuff coming out.  I regret not having taking care of this sooner.  Looks like I will be out of commission for a week more......Brother get you butt in there and have it done soon...the bigger is not the better. Pain is awful; feels like someone is squeezing them

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi.  The best thing for you to do is to have your testicle examined by a doctor, preferably an internal medicine specialist or a urologist.  The swelling of your testicle may be due to an infection (orchitis) or an hernia (this is a condition where some of the abdominal organs slide into the testicular sac because of a weakened abdominal wall).  A testicular tumor is also a possibility and has to be ruled out.  A testicular ultrasound can help differentiate between these various conditions.
