Stomach Cancer (Frightened)

Hi i'm 23 years old and i'm worried i've got stomach cancer as i've read a lot of things on the internet about it.

What the problem i started to have a sore chest just below my breast bone 3 weeks ago but that passed but then the following Monday i woke up with pains in my stomach that are really sore i've been to to the doctors about this problem 3 times but they just dismiss my concerns about stomach cancer my symtoms about my sore stomach are it's just constant pain in my stomach i can still eat and drink no problem but its sore in my stomach, and just in the middle of my body and the pain doesnt go away but other than that i've no other symptoms and i just get worked up and got into my head i've got stomach cancer and i'm afraid i will die young.

I just don't know what to do and if anybody has the same symptoms or think they can help me in anyway it would be much appreciated to put my mind at rest.

Also is it common for young people to get stomach cancer??

Kind Regards,

Have you ever had an upper GI? Sounds like a hiatal hernia to me because I have one and thats right where you feel it, in the middle of the chest. Do you have any acid reflux?

Hi Patricia,
Did your husband get pains when he ate?  Could his acid reflux be  temporarily relieved by Pepcid?  Did he experience any numbness in the Leggs?
Thank you for sharing your post was very helpful.

I agree. The more you worry, the more your symptoms will continue to seem bad. It could just be gas, you could be allergic to something you are eating, even wheat or dairy. It could be so many things but if it were cancer, you would most certainly have more symptoms than you have. Good luck to you and quit worrying, you will get uclers!!

my husband has stomach cancer, he has just finished his chemo , i hope i can put your mind at rest abit.. the pain he started off with was lower down in his stomach. he also started getting very bad acid reflux. he started to lose weight because food would not stay in his stomach.Ask ur doctor if he would do a white blood cell count. when it comes back normal it will put your mind at rest. My husbands cell count was high because his body was fighting the tumour. There are so many reasons for the symptons ur having and 99.9% are everyday problems. Just explain to ur doctor how stressed out it is making you and if he won't listen then hes not the doc for you, go elsewhere. The main thing is you put your worries to rest. Stress could even be whats causing the problems, because i know for a fact that depression or worry can manifest itself into real aches and pains.
