Lesion in the left lower pelvis

What does complex lesion in the left low pelvis which appears to involve or arise from the abdominal rectus muscle but has extra muscular components in the inguinal region. This area is complex with what appear to be both cystic and solid component with metabolic activity up to SUV of  4.1. Metastatic disease would be included in the differential although somewhat unusual in its appearance.

Thank you for your reply.  Having a pet scan in two months to check area as it is possible this is attributed to an infection that put me in the hospital.

What are the symptoms present? I understand your concern regarding this. Complex lesions, including cystic and solid components, may be attributed to a variety of issues such as possible peritoneal or mesenteric masses, fluid collections and even possible infectious in nature. It is best that you discuss the results with your attending physician for proper evaluation. Additional information such as symptoms, medical history and results of physical examination are important considerations also. Take care and do keep us posted.
