barretts

Hi
I am a 56 year old male. I was diagnoised with
crohns disease when I was 22.  I have had heartburn for 30 years. Im nervous about barrets esophagus . I had my last endoscopy in 2004
I have been on zantec for all these years.My hearburn got worst when I started taking fosomax
for my bones.  I have a hital hernia.  I think
I should be screened again. I am thinking about
changing my doctor because of he says one endoscopy is all that is needed if it was negative fofor barretts. But I'm worried.  any info I would appreciate thanks steve

Hey Steve!

Your doctor is correct. If the endoscopy/ biopsy was negative for batters a second biopsy is not required atleast for the nest 3 years.
