what does this cat scan results mean: right adnexal cystic lesion, hypodense renal and liver lesions, too numerous and mostly too small to characterized. these findings represent presumed renal and liver cysts.
What was the indication for doing a CT scan?
The right adnexal cystic lesion could represent an ovarian cyst which can be physiologic especially in premenopausal patients. This can be related to the renal and liver cysts found in the CT scan. There are familial syndromes that can manifest with multiple cysts in the organ involved. An example is polycystic disease of the kidney which, as the name implies, manifests as multiple cysts in the kidney.
Hope this helps.
