i'm scared...

i'm 29yr old male with no history of serious illness in the past, unfortunately i'm a heavy smoker who quit a couple of days ago. i started getting this very very light dull pain on my left chest. its around where my heart is. i'm very scared that it might be cancer. god i am even scared to think about it and even to see a doctor. i dont have cough or when i try to no blood there at least (needing to clean my throath sorry.. time to time as i just quit). no swelling anywhere. no weightloss of loss or sweating etc. i feel pretty healthy except this very light and i can almost say aching pain on my chest to the lower left. i might be just alittle paranoid here maybe but honestly i am very scared. one more note, i did not know what to do and took a few pain killers and that seems to help or putting stuff like vicks etc on my chest? i cleaned the yard from the leaves a few days ago could it just be muscle issues ??? :-( i am really scared.

thank you so much :-) i am super super happy that i am healthy. i was really really so scared as i dont really get too much aches/pain like this. one thing i should say is. everyone should take good good good care of their body, cos once ur health is gone its one thing u cant easily get back.

for smokers ... at least try quiting for a few days ... its one thing that will make an instant change in your life... you wake up being able to breath is just amazing. and a try is a try at least give it a shot. i did it cos i was scared to "death" but its better if you do it without a reason like that.

i've started walking everyday before i start working. stopped drinking coffee and substituted it with tea (and that instantly helped me with my heartburn as well).

i cant believe how these little things that we do every day effects our energy levels and how we feel.

even tho i have a flu right now i have more energy and a better attitude already. (just minor muscle aches from some excercise and flu combined but thats it).

thank you again guys for listening to me here talking about how worried i was. and i will copy this entire post thing as a reminder of how scared i was and how important my healt is to me ...

Hi,
I am happy that your heart and lungs are perfect. The best thing is that you quit smoking. As such SMOKING is the single largest cause of the cancers, hypertension and many many other ailments. Now that you have stopped I advice you to have 'De-toxic'session to clear away the poisons you would have accumulated so far.De-toixfying means to get rid of the toxins. It can be done by consuming lot of water.Drink upto 4 liters of water,EVEN IF YOU ARE NOT THIRSTY ,watch the clock and drink water every 2 hours,it helps in flushing your system.Take lot of green vegetables.Specially spinach.Vitamin C will help in detoxifying.
Good luck.

ecg was all fine they said my heart is pretty strong .. lungs seem to be ok. blood tests were all negative... its weird doc said its most likely i've brused or damaged some muscles in the area. i feel better knowing its not my heart or lungs.. and the greatest thing is i quit smoking ..i'm having some withdrawal symptoms but they're nothing compared to the scare i got from this whole thing ...

Hi,
Researchers say that sudden withdrawal from smoking can cause a dull pain over the precordim(area over the heart and the chest).
Apart from this, consult a Pulmonologist to rule out a lung problem.Take an ECG to know about your heart.
As you say, lets pray that its just a muscle rub.but dont delay and consult the doctor as soon as possible.
Good luck.
