Should I be worried?

Around October I started having a decrease in appetite and started feeling tired all the time.  I thought I was just stressed out from school.  In December I started having lower back pains that kept me home from school.  Then my stomach started hurting as well shortly after.  I went to the doctor and they found some minor cysts in my right ovary and discovered 12 stomach ulcers.  Since then I have been treated for the ulcers and they are supposedly healed but I still feel sick.   My back has had lower pains and I have frequent joint pains in my legs.  I feel tired all the time and my appetite isn't better because I feel full and bloated all the time.  I'll suddenly feel hot and begin sweating and takes a couple of hours with an ice bag to cool me off.  I am gassy all the time and swap between being constipated and having diarrhea.   If i sneeze, cough, laugh or jump suddenly I will start to pee myself a little without meaning to.  I had a period in October then didn't have one again until February( it was light and short)  and haven't had once since.  In the months between my periods I might experience random brown discharge.  I experience pains in my lower abdomen and am emotional sometimes as though I am PMSing.  I lose weight fast without meaning to and might gain a few pounds back after weeks then start losing weight again.  I  have been tested for IBS, Chrone's Disease, and thyroid problems but they say everything is normal.  I have to take iron substitutes and have been told I'm slightly anemic.   They are going to start me on birth control pills on sunday to see if that gets everything in check and gets me completely back to normal.   I am 17 years old and still in high school.

With your age, cancer is unlikely unless you have a strong family history.  With your symptoms, I would definitely suggest to (1) follow up with a GI doctor, get h.pilori tested and get an EGD to confirm ulcers are healed; and (2) follow up w/ OB/GYN doctor to get a pelvic ultrasound and follow up with ovarian cyst.  Birth control pills usually helps a lot in terms of regulating female hormone related problems.  Ask your OB/GYN about it.  I hope this helps and that you feel better soon.  Take care!
