Thanks for the update!!!! I am really glad that a vet IS willing to spay her. I had a good feeling that a vet would do it. Your household will be such a more happy place without her raging hormones!!
Have you ever looked into the cause of your cats heart murmur? Sometimes, bad teeth will cause an infection on the heart valves. The bacteria in the mouth travel to the heart and settle on the heart valves. It causes pockets of pus to form, and the valves will not close properly. An antibiotic could improve the heart murmur a lot. This also happened with my cat!! It might be worth asking your vet about this. I hope your vet has already told you about this!!
Take care, and you can send me a PM or post if you want advice, tips, or to give some updates.
My husband found another placenta today before he took Minnie to the vet. They did xrays and blood work and found no skeletons in the uterus; although her uterus is enlarged as if she were preparing for kittens. Her nipples are also drying up. Spoke to new doc today and she said we can in fact get her spayed, they just have to monitor her more closely. Did not want to get spaying done right away because they would have charged me extra due to her pregnant-like condition, which would require tying off of more blood vessels and more time. So decided to have it done in a few weeks when she hopefully has gotten rid of everything going on. Her mood is because of raging hormones, which all of us women can relate to. Her blood work came back exceptionally normal for a cat in her condition, which ruled out another condition that could have turned fatal.
Hopefully she is done with this episode and will make it through surgery OK. Thanks for your concern and I hope all of your animals are healthy and stay that way!

Thanks for your comments. She is approximately 2 years old. I think someone dumped her because she was very people friendly when we found her. Her heart murmur is pretty bad - valve won't open right and you can hear a swishing noise when you hear her heart. Although, she never really exhibits behavior that the murmur is impairing her in any way - she is very active and especially today - going after my dogs like Ninja cat and swinging away with her paws - had to do everything I could to keep the dogs from eating her - normally they get along great and 2 of my dogs actually have been cleaning her and pampering her this past week.
I am going to ask again today what they think about spaying, because as stressful as it is to the cat to go into heat, it's even worse for me trying to cover everything before she bleeds on it.
Have a 3:00 appt. today and will let you know what they say. They did indicate could be a uterine infection or something else. She has had bladder infections previously, but I strongly suspect it is my initial thought - miscarriage.
Thanks again!
I agree, what you describe does sound like an aborted pregnancy! Although, I've never seen one either. I'm glad to hear that you're taking her to the vets, because it's possible that there are still some fetuses in her that she can't deliver.
Just curious, how old is your cat? And, how bad is the heart murmur? I'm trying to make sense of the reason why your vet won't spay her! To me, grant it I'm no vet, but it would seem like a bunch of pregnancies would put much more stress on the heart than ONE surgery would!!! AND, a cat being in heat all the time is stressful to cats as well. That is why I don't understand your vet's decision on not to spay!!
Please come back with an update!!! =D
